2024 Annual Meeting

The SHS Annual Meeting and Election of Officers was held Sunday February 11, 2024 at 2:00 pm. At the meeting the following motion was offered and accepted: To change the name from the Sherborn Historical Society to the Sherborn History Center and Museum

The meeting was followed by “Antiques, Art & Collectibles in 2024” with Past President, Ken Van Blarcom. Attended by over forty members, the program was enthusiastically received.

Kenneth W. Van Blarcom of South Natick (formerly of Sherborn), offered fresh insight into the art and antique market today, just where it has been, what it’s like now and where it might be heading.

Ken looked at some intriguing items in the Historical Society’s collection including a rare daguerreotype and other treasures brought in by members, ranging from a mahogany candle table to an usual fish lure.

Ken is an appraiser,auctioneer and purveyor of antiques and fine art who has built a valued reputation through knowledge, attention to detail and customized service. His wide range of experience and expertise in appraising objects of value and rarity involves a variety of collecting fields, including American, English and Continental furniture, American and English Silver, glassware, ceramics, paintings and fine art, oriental carpets, as well as decorative and contemporary design.
